  • Our Mission

Since 1994 Learning in Style has provided a rich learning experience for newcomers to the Twin Cities community. Our emphasis at Learning in Style is on building literacy and citizenship skills in a supportive, affordable and respectful environment that is open to all who want to learn. In both mission and ministry, Learning in Style functions from within the charism, tradition and expertise of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and Consociates of the St. Paul Province. Classes are offered at no cost to students.

Volunteer

At Learning in Style, a volunteer is anyone who comes to the school to help in any way, but whose duties do not include classroom teaching and who does not receive a salary for his or her work.

Our volunteers perform many essential jobs:

  • Assisting teachers in classrooms and the Children’s Room
  • Helping students practice their English conversational skills
  • Staffing the reception desk
  • Data Entry
  • Technical and Computer Support

It takes a special kind of person to work at Learning in Style. We’re looking  for people who are interested in being incorporated as a peer member into our school community. Take a look at our Expectations of Volunteers and see if you’re that kind of person!
